Tajinder Singh, Pollard Inspire Stunning MI New York Comeback Against Seattle Orcas

Dallas, July 11: Tajinder Singh produced a sensational unbeaten 66 before Kieron Pollard delivered a decisive all-round performance as MI New York completed a remarkable comeback to defeat Seattle Orcas by 17 runs in Major League Cricket 2026.

Sent in to bat, MI New York were struggling at 73 for 5 in the 12th over, with Seattle captain Marcus Stoinis ripping through the batting order. However, Tajinder and Pollard transformed the innings with an explosive 80-run sixth-wicket partnership from 41 balls.

Pollard struck 54 from 33 deliveries before becoming one of Stoinis' five victims. Stoinis finished with impressive figures of 5 for 46, but Tajinder ensured Seattle could not capitalise on his spell.

The unbeaten batter smashed 66 from just 27 balls, including two fours and two sixes in a 20-run final over from Dasun Shanaka. MI New York collected an extraordinary 97 runs from their final seven overs to finish on 179 for 8.

Seattle appeared firmly in control of the chase at 144 for 1 in the 16th over, needing only 36 runs from 26 balls. Tim Seifert and Matthew Breetzke had put together a commanding 117-run partnership and looked set to guide the Orcas home.

Pollard changed the game by bowling Breetzke for 44, triggering a dramatic collapse. Seattle managed only 18 runs from their final 26 deliveries while losing five wickets as Pollard and Romario Shepherd tightened the pressure.

Shepherd delivered two outstanding death overs, conceding just one run in the 17th and three in the 19th. Seifert, who had dominated the chase, eventually departed for 88 from 61 balls after struggling to accelerate in the closing stages.

With Seattle requiring 22 from the final over, Pollard conceded only four runs and claimed another wicket to seal a memorable victory.

The win earned MI New York two crucial points in the increasingly tight MLC playoff race, moving them to 10 points from nine matches and strengthening their hopes of reaching the knockout stage.
