:India opener Shafali Verma added another remarkable achievement to her growing international career, becoming the youngest and fastest batter to score 3,000 runs in Women’s T20Is.

Shafali reached the milestone during India’s Women’s Asia Cup Group A clash against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, September 5.

At just 22 years and 220 days, Shafali became the youngest player to reach 3,000 runs in the format. She surpassed Ireland’s Gaby Lewis, who had achieved the milestone at the age of 24 years and 347 days.

The Indian opener also set a new record for the fewest balls required to reach 3,000 T20I runs. She completed the landmark in 2,182 deliveries, going past Australia’s Alyssa Healy, who previously held the record after reaching 3,000 runs from 2,321 balls.

Shafali’s achievement underlines her impact in the shortest format. Known for her aggressive batting and fearless approach at the top of the order, she has established herself as one of India’s most influential T20 players despite her young age.

The record came on a memorable night for India, who produced a dominant all-round performance against Pakistan. India’s bowlers dismissed Pakistan for just 55 runs, before the Indian batting unit chased down the target comfortably to secure a seven-wicket victory.

The win also helped India finish at the top of Group A, strengthening their position in the Women’s Asia Cup.

Shafali’s latest milestone adds another chapter to her already impressive career and further highlights her status as one of the leading young batters in women’s international cricket.
