Seifert’s Unbeaten Century and Chase’s Three-Wicket Over Power St Lucia Kings to CPL Summit

Tim Seifert smashed 105 while Roston Chase produced a game-changing three-wicket over as St Lucia Kings defeated Trinbago Knight Riders by 36 runs*

St Lucia Kings climbed back to the top of the Caribbean Premier League table after a commanding 36-run victory over Trinbago Knight Riders in Port of Spain.

The Kings posted 211 for 4, only the second 200-plus total of the CPL season, powered by a spectacular unbeaten 105 from 61 balls by Tim Seifert. In reply, the Knight Riders managed 175 for 6 despite a stunning counterattack from Kieron Pollard.

Seifert was in control from the beginning, helping the Kings race to 64 for 1 during the powerplay. He first added 60 from 34 balls with Kamil Pooran before combining with John Campbell for another 75 off just 38 deliveries.

After Campbell's dismissal, Charith Asalanka joined Seifert and contributed a rapid 33 from 21 balls. Seifert reached his century in the final over, pulling a slower bouncer from Pollard to complete his second CPL hundred.

The Knight Riders started their chase positively, with Colin Munro and Sunil Narine putting on 56 during the powerplay. However, the match changed dramatically in the eighth over when Roston Chase claimed three wickets, removing Narine, Matthew Breetze and Nicholas Pooran in the space of three deliveries.

With the chase slipping away, Pollard produced a remarkable individual assault. The veteran smashed 65 from just 26 balls, including six fours and five sixes, briefly giving the Knight Riders hope.

Pollard's dismissal, caught and bowled by Matthew Forde, effectively ended the contest. Trinbago eventually finished on 175 for 6, falling 36 runs short.

The victory moved St Lucia Kings to eight points and the top of the CPL standings, while Trinbago Knight Riders dropped to sixth.
