The Pakistan Cricket Board is considering sending a select group of cricketers to the United States for a specialised training programme focused on power-hitting and modern skill development.
According to Pakistan white-ball coach Mike Hesson, the proposed camp could last up to four months and is designed to expose players—especially those returning from long-term injuries—to fresh training methods and a new learning environment.
The initiative is part of a broader effort by the PCB to modernise Pakistan cricket’s fitness and performance systems. Recently appointed sports medicine director Dr Javed Mughal has already begun overhauling player assessment and conditioning protocols, with fitness now treated as a non-negotiable part of elite performance.
Promising young fast bowler Ali Raza is among the players being considered for the programme. Widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s most exciting pace prospects, the 18-year-old is being carefully managed to improve durability and sustain his high-speed bowling under pressure.
Hesson emphasized that the plan goes beyond physical conditioning, aiming to combine technical development, injury management, and exposure to innovative coaching methods as Pakistan looks to build a stronger, more modern white-ball setup.
