Dravid and Sehwag’s Sons Named in India U-19 Squad for Australia Series

Lakshya Raichandani will captain the one-day side, while Yashbardhan Chauhan will lead the multi-day team

India Under-19 have announced their squads for the upcoming home series against Australia Under-19, with Anvay Dravid and Aaryavir Sehwag among the notable names selected for the one-day fixtures.

Lakshya Raichandani has been appointed captain for the three-match one-day series, with Yashbardhan Chauhan as his deputy. The two will swap roles for the multi-day matches, with Yashbardhan taking charge and Raichandani serving as vice-captain.

Anvay Dravid, son of former India captain Rahul Dravid, returns to the squad after featuring in the Under-19 tour of Sri Lanka in July. He scored an impressive 87 in the second one-day match and has been named as one of two wicketkeeping options for the ODI-style fixtures.

Aaryavir Sehwag, son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, also features in the one-day squad.

Raichandani enters the series in strong form after a prolific Sri Lanka tour. He was the leading run-scorer in the two-match Youth Test series, accumulating 307 runs at an average of 153.50, including a 207 and an unbeaten century.

The one-day series will be played on September 18, 21 and 23, with all three matches scheduled in Rajkot. The two multi-day fixtures will take place from September 27-30 and October 5-8, with the second match being held in Ahmedabad.

Yashbardhan also impressed in Sri Lanka, scoring 201 runs and taking six wickets across the two Youth Tests.

The Australia series will provide another opportunity for several members of India's successful Under-19 setup to build their credentials, while the inclusion of Dravid and Sehwag's sons is likely to attract additional attention.
